The INSTK Split System Installation Kit comes with the following: SS-1 - EL-3636-3 - CT34X50OD - CT38X50OD - 6RX048038 - FBTD - ISOPAD


The SAFE-T-SWITCH SS-1 Primary Float Switch detects down stream clogs in condensate drains and interrupts the thermostat circuit to shut off the unit before flooding occurs. Works with Safe-T-Gard Model SG-1 condensate overflow alarm. The Model SS-1 installs inline at any downward slope from vertical to horizontal. It can also be installed on auxiliary pan outlets utilizing the plug included with the kit. PVC Tee body accepts a 3/4 inch slip PVC stub or drain pipe with included bushing. Compact footprint fits well in sloped drains and tight spaces.


Installation Options Include:

  • Inline installation in primary condensate drains (vertical or horizontal)
  • Auxilliary (safety) pan outlet installation with included plug and plugged installation on alternate primary drain outlets


Standard Features:

  • Sealed, waterproof reed/magnet float switch
  • Potted electrical contacts for reliable performance in wet environments
  • Float resets automatically and after the drain is cleared
  • 6 ft. lead wires are pre-wired and sealed requiring one electrical connection during installation (usually within the air handler electrical cabinet)

Smooth bends permit the tube to follow contours and corners of almost any angle. With soft-temper tube, particularly when used for renovation and modernization projects, much less wall and ceiling space is needed.
  • Copper is durable - Copper tube is manufactured to well-defined composition standards and marked with permanent identification so you know exactly what it is and who made it. Copper tube is accepted by virtually every plumbing code.
  • Copper is easy to join - Copper tube can be joined with capillary fittings. These fittings save material and make smooth, neat, strong, leak-proof joints. No extra thickness or weight is necessary to compensate for material removed by threading.
  • Copper is safe - Copper tube will not burn or support combustion and decompose to toxic gases. Therefore, it will not carry fire through floors, walls, or ceilings. Volatile organic compounds are not required for installation.


The Insulation is used to retard heat gain and control condensation drip from cold-water plumbing, chilled-water, and refrigeration lines. It also efficiently reduces heat flow for hot-water plumbing, liquid-heating and dual-temperature piping.

The recommended temperature usage range for Pipe Insulation is -70ºF to +220ºF (-57ºC to +105ºC). For use on cold pipes, Pipe Insulation thicknesses have been calculated to control condensation on the insulation outer surface, as shown in the table of thickness recommendations.

The closed-cell structure of Insulation effectively retards the flow of moisture vapor, and is considered a low-transmittance vapor retarder. Insulation normally requires no supplemental vapor-retarder protection.

Additional vapor-retarder protection may be necessary for this insulation when installed on very-low-temperature piping or where exposed to continually high humidity conditions.

Please check your piping and insulation requirements on the chart of the air conditioners purchased. The I.D. dimensions should be identical to the suction line size. Insulation is required on any copper pipe that will be exposed after the expansion devices, therefore please measure the amount of exposed pipe and consider that every insulation piece has 6 feet in length.
