The Rheem / Ruud Single Pole 40AMP, 24V Condenser Contactor is a switch that is located in the condenser (outdoor unit) of a heating or cooliong split system. The "switch" consists of a control coil, a metal plunger, and one or more sets of electrical contacts. the switch turns the unit on and off as required to keep the home at the desired temperature.
